John A. Kirkland, Jr., MD

John A. Kirkland, Jr., MD is the current Board Chairman for UNC Health Foundation. He earned his degree in Chemistry (cum laude) from UNC in 1981 and graduated from UNC School of Medicine in 1985. He has practiced urology in Charlotte for the last 30 years with Urology Specialists of the Carolinas. Dr. Kirkland is a perennial choice for Top Docs in Charlotte and Best Doctors in North Carolina as well as the Urologist for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers since 1995.

He recently served as president of the UNC Medical School Alumni Association and remains very active with the UNC School of Medicine.

Dr. Kirkland is married to Chris and has three children Tyler (Joe), John, and McKay (Alex) and two granddaughters.
