Steven Skolsky
Steve Skolsky is the Principal at EXPIS Partners, a consultancy specializing in biopharmaceuticals and life sciences. In this role, Steve focuses on providing advisory services to life sciences boards, executive management teams, and financial and investment institutions. With over 35 years of experience in the healthcare and life sciences sectors, Steve is a recognized leader known for his expertise in general management, product strategy, commercialization, and product development.
Steve has held senior executive positions across pharma, biotech, and healthcare services, including CEO and President roles in both private and public companies. His extensive background encompasses all facets of the biopharmaceutical and healthcare services industries, including research, early-stage discovery, product development, commercialization, sales and marketing, healthcare operations, and clinical services.
From 2011 to 2016, Steve served in senior executive roles at Quintiles Transnational, most recently as Senior Vice President & Managing Director. He joined Quintiles in 2011 as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Clinical & Data Operations. Prior to this, from 2004 to 2011, he was the President and Chief Executive OVicer of Sequoia Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and previously served as Chief Executive OVicer of Trimeris, Inc. Before joining Trimeris, Steve spent over 20 years at GlaxoSmithKline, where he held senior leadership roles, including Managing Director of GSK’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, and Senior Vice President of Global Product Strategy and Clinical Development.
Currently, Steve serves on the boards of Elligo Health Research, Huma AI (Chair), and BEKhealth (Chair), as well as the UNC Health Foundation and the Lineberger Cancer Center. He previously served on the boards of Clinipace, Inc. and Novan Pharmaceuticals until their acquisition. Additionally, he has held board positions with Basilea Pharmaceutica, Adherex Technologies/Fennec Pharmaceuticals, the Foundation Board of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, and the Board of Visitors of UNC-Chapel Hill.
Steve holds a BA in biology from UNC-Chapel Hill.
