Terri L. Phillips, MDTerri L. Phillips, MD, FAAP, joined Merz in January 2018 as vice president and head of Global Medical Affairs, providing oversight to the global medical affairs function for medical aesthetics and neurosciences. She currently serves as the Chief Medical Affairs Officer for Merz Aesthetics and is a member of Merz’s North American Global Leadership Team.

Dr. Phillips is widely recognized for her scientific, technical and business innovation expertise and has been in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years. Before joining industry, she practiced fulltime in neonatal/perinatal medicine, serving as medical director for a large, multi-site practice in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Prior to joining Merz, Dr. Phillips was vice president of Global Medical Affairs at Santen where she led and built the company’s first global medical affairs function supporting the ophthalmology business. Her industry experience includes executive leadership roles at Allergan, NPS Pharmaceuticals (now Shire) and as a specialty consultant to emerging medical affairs organizations across various therapeutic areas.

Dr. Phillips holds a Bachelor of Science from Bennett College and a Doctor of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. She completed her Pediatrics residency at Emory University and her fellowship in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Dr. Phillips maintains dual board certification and is a veteran of the United States Army, Medical Corps where she was a recognized leader and the recipient of numerous awards, including the Army Commendation Medal. She has authored text and journal articles, is an active community volunteer and has been recognized as one of “America’s Top Pediatricians.”
