Every year since 1963, UNC Hospitals Volunteer Association has sponsored a North Carolina High School Health Career Symposium in Carrington Hall, the School of Nursing.

This year the focus was on Neonatology, the care of premature and ill infants.

Over 135 high school students from all over NC attended the daylong event, which included a keynote by Dr. Sofia Aliaga, three interactive skills stations for students to experience and participate in, and a panel of professionals from the Newborn Critical Care Center that included RNs, MD, NNP, RT, PharmD, LCSW, and a Registered Dietician.

Over 25 staff member volunteers from the NCCC helped to make the day fun and exciting for the students.
