Impact Series on Allergies
There has been a dramatic increase in food and environmental allergies in the last 50 years, and it is not stopping because there is a pandemic. On October 29th, we heard from Dr. Edwin Kim on food allergies, Dr. Scott Commins on Alpha-Gal meat allergy and Dr. Sofija Volertas on integrated medicine.

On October 13, we heard from Dr. Cindy Gay and Dr. Jonathan Parr, two of our leading experts in the field of infectious diseases. The two gave a helpful updated regarding COVID-19 as well as information on UNC Health’s phase 3 clinical trial for Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine.

On Sept. 10, UNC Health Drs. Cristy Page, Samantha Meltzer-Brody and Samuel McLean were joined by One Mind president Brandon Staglin, MS, to discuss resources available to help healthcare workers and community members deal with mental health challenges during the pandemic.
