Marshall Insley Classic Surpasses $3 Million in Cancer Research Support

On September 29, the fourth annual Marshall Insley Classic at Baltusrol Golf Club raised more than $600,000 to support cancer research across UNC Health and UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Over the past four years, the tournament has raised more than $3 million for the Marshall Insley Cancer Research Fund, supporting efforts to treat and find cures for colorectal cancer.

Despite the amazing progress we have made, colorectal cancer cases for patients under 50 are increasing. To help these patients and find explanations for the rise in cases, the proceeds from this year’s tournament will go to support Michael Iglesia, MD, PhD, whose clinical practice and research focuses on these “young-onset” patients.
