“We are deeply grateful for the attentive, skilled and compassionate care my wife has received and want to show our appreciation by supporting the continued success of the Center for Aging Brain Health.”
Philip A. Baddour, Donor to the Center for Aging Brain Health
UNC Health, in partnership with the UNC School of Medicine, is at the forefront of the neurosciences—advancing care and treatment for conditions that affect the brain, spine, and nervous system. Through life-changing research and compassionate clinical care across psychiatry, neurology, and neurosurgery, we are improving outcomes for patients today while shaping the future of brain health.
Psychiatry focuses on mental health and well-being, while neurology addresses disorders of the brain and nervous system, treating conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and epilepsy. Neurosurgery makes life-changing interventions possible for complex conditions affecting the brain and spine, including tumors, trauma, and vascular disorders.
One of our most important priorities within the neurosciences is the Aging Brain Clinic. As the population ages, the need to better understand and treat cognitive decline and memory disorders has never been greater. Dedicated clinicians and scientists at the Aging Brain Clinic are working together to promote brain health and prevent decline through research, early detection and diagnosis, innovative treatments, and patient support.
Your generosity can accelerate discovery across the neurosciences and help patients receive the care they need.
Gifts to our departments of psychiatry, neurology, and neurosurgery make it possible to expand clinical programs, support research, and bring new treatments to patients. They also strengthen services that help patients and their families maintain independence and quality of life.
