Melissa Daniels
Melissa Daniels has been a member of the Board of Directors of the UNC Health Foundation since 2020.
Ms. Daniels currently serves as Managing Director on the Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital Platform and of Morgan Stanley. Ms. Daniels is based in San Francisco where she leads Expansion Capital’s healthcare activities, in addition to her expertise in software/SaaS investing, across Expansion’s growth equity and growth credit funds. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of ABS Kids, Elligo Healthcare, ValGenesis, Gozio, and GumGum. Ms. Daniels is a member of the Investment Committee for Morgan Stanley’s Next Level Fund, a fund focused on investing in Women and Multicultural founded early-stage companies and was formerly a Member of the ESG Steering Committee for the Private Credit & Equity platform.
Ms. Daniels joined Morgan Stanley in 2000. Previously, she served in a variety of operational and management roles within Commerce Clearing House (purchased by Wolters Kluwer). She has also served as staff to the Committee on Public Works and Transportation of the US House of Representatives and to the North Carolina Secretary of State.
Ms. Daniels earned a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
