Madeline Neal joined the UNC Health Foundation as Chief of Staff, effective January 8, 2024. Madeline has more than 15 years of work experience at UNC, time that has been spent in service of advancing health in North Carolina through research and academic programming aimed at improving outcomes for patients, populations, and the healthcare workforce.

Madeline has close ties with the School of Medicine’s faculty, staff, and student base. In 2018, she joined the newly established Office of Interprofessional Education & Practice, where she worked closely with Meg Zomorodi, Associate Provost for Interprofessional Health Initiatives, and a board of directors from each of UNC’s health professions schools, to implement a bold strategic plan that has since launched UNC in to the national spotlight as a leader in interprofessional education, developing collaborative-practice ready graduates who enter the workforce prepared to lead in today’s challenging healthcare landscape.

In her new role for the Foundation, she will help drive efficiency, effectiveness and alignment across the Foundation on a variety of projects and initiatives including our new strategic plan and serve as an advisor and thought partner to the Foundation president and senior leadership team.

At UNC Health Foundation, we inspire philanthropic support for UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine that transforms healthcare and provides hope to the people of North Carolina and communities around the world.
