Our donors have funded important resources that helped UNC become the highly regarded academic medical institution it is today. UNC Health Foundation recognizes the many generous donors to the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Hospitals whose gifts support students, faculty and the citizens we serve across the state and the globe. Giving to medicine demonstrates leadership and a special commitment to caring, discovery, teaching, and hope. To honor and express our appreciation of our donors, the following recognition societies have been established:

The Foust Leadership Society recognizes generous donors to the Medical Alumni Loyalty Fund, Class Funds, Loyalty Fund Scholarships and priority medical education funds, including the New Medical Education Building, SHAC and MED Program funds.

Leadership giving to medical education invests in tomorrow’s physician leaders through student enrichment, faculty excellence and alumni engagement, all of which will be enhanced by the new medical building set to open in 2022.

The name John Foust signifies loyalty and leadership. Among the first to receive a four-year degree from the UNC School of Medicine in 1955, Dr. Foust created a legacy of peer engagement and loyal alumni giving back to the medical school. The National Loyalty Fund Committee, founded by Dr. Foust, honored him in 2018 with the creation of The Foust Leadership Society.

Recognition is based on total giving to medical education July 1 through June 30. Membership begins at $1,000 with tiered Junior Associates levels available for young alumni.

Lineberger Leadership Partners is a special group of committed supporters recognized for their generous annual contributions of $2,500 or more annually (July 1 – June 30). Each year, Lineberger Leadership Partners are invited to Lineberger Club, an exclusive breakfast where attendees hear from researchers, physicians, and patients to get an inside look at how their gifts impact UNC Lineberger.

Lineberger Leadership Partners invest in people to find cures, translate research into results for patients, venture to seek scientific solutions, and help unite across populations to beat cancer.

Partner with us to provide today’s best care and tomorrow’s best hope.

Our mission at UNC Children’s is to take care of children today and in the future. The Curnen Leadership Society donors make our vision a reality by providing financial support annually that allows us to provide multidisciplinary clinical care coupled with breakthroughs in research that will change the face of pediatric medicine in the future. Membership to the Curnen Leadership Society is achieved by making a gift of $1,000 or more during the academic fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) to any area of the Children’s Hospital or the Department of Pediatrics.

The Curnen Leadership Society was named for Dr. Edward Curnen who served as chair for the Department of Pediatrics from 1952 to 1960. Dr. Curnen was a leader in child health and we invite you to follow his lead in being a champion for children. Please consider joining this generous and committed group of donors who are instrumental in changing the lives of thousands of young patients that come to UNC Children’s for treatment.
