Important year-end gift deadlines and reminders for 2023

Thank you for considering a year-end gift to the UNC Health Foundation. Important year-end deadlines and reminders to receive tax benefits for calendar year 2023 gifts are listed below. Please note that the UNC Health Foundation will be closed December 25-January 1. To assist our donors with their year-end giving, Gift Processing will be partially staffed Dec. 26-29. To ensure that your gift is processed to meet IRS tax-year deadlines, please see the information below.

Gifts by credit card

We accept AMEX, Discover, MasterCard and VISA. You can give in the following ways:

Online

Online giving at unchf.org/yearend is the fastest way for us to receive any gifts.

Online gifts should be completed before midnight Dec. 31 to qualify as tax deductible contributions in 2023. To make your gift online, go to unchf.org/yearend. IRS guidelines require that online credit card transactions be completed by 11:59 p.m., Dec. 31 (based on the time zone in which the gift is made), in order for those gifts to count in the calendar year.

Phone

To make a gift by phone, call 919-843-9866 before 2 p.m. EST on Dec. 29. Please have your credit card number, expiration date and daytime phone number ready when you call. To ensure the security of your information as well as the timely processing of your gift, please do not leave your credit card information on a voicemail. After 2 p.m., please go online to make your year-end gift at unchf.org/yearend.

Gifts by check

If you mail a check, the envelope must be postmarked by Dec. 31 to count as a gift for 2023. Please make your check payable to “UNC Health Foundation” and include a note or gift slip indicating how you want your gift designated and mail it to:

Gifts by stock
