Thank you so much for the tireless effort you are putting into your work! Your sacrifice and service matters so much to all of us, and especially to those you are caring for. Thank you for stepping up to the challenge and doing what we cannot do. I’m sure it’s exhausting and overwhelming at times, but I’m praying that you are encouraged and refreshed in between shifts and that you have opportunities every day to see the difference that you’re making. I pray that you might be the one to give someone hope today, a hand to hold, a smile, a reassuring presence. Hang in there! We appreciate you!!
Thanks for all you are doing. Sometimes hibernating inside a comfortable home you forget that there are folks like you caring for those who are not as lucky as I am. Keep going!

Christ said that the greatest commandments are to love the Lord with all our heart/mind/spirit and to love your neighbor as yourself. Well, I can’t think of anyone showing more “love” to the world today than you. Thank you. Praise God for all of you and for all you do. We appreciate you in ways that can’t even be expressed in words. May God continue to bless you and your families….
Just can not find the words to express my gratitude! But know that I along with thousands of others are so grateful for all you have done and are continuing to do for us . It will never be forgotten! Thank you, thank you for being there for all who are needing care. In February and March, I received devoted attention and care from my hospital and a rehab facility after I fell and broke my right hip. Everyone I came in contact with exhibited skill and care for my injury, beginning with the EMS crew that picked me up off the ground, nurses, surgeons, x-ray techs, CNAs, physical therapists, housekeeping crews, and on and on. And, now, the loads for you are so much greater. May God grant you safety in the days ahead.
You are appreciated and in our thoughts! THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for your work. I would like to offer free online gentle yoga classes to your team. Email me and we can set-up the access to the classes.
Thank you very much for all the wonderful service you provide the sick and their families, particularly during this time of crisis.
Words aren’t enough, but hope they will do.
Angel and I appreciate you

We are so grateful and proud of everyone of you!
It is not only comforting to call you our Chapel Hill neighbors but an honor as well.
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for those of you who have the courage to leave your families, to knowingly put yourself in harms way, so that others will be safe and continue to have good health. Saying “thank you” seems so inadequate at times like these, but I do, “Thank You”. Respect!
You inspire all of us! Your selfless dedication is protecting us all… thank you for putting your self in harm’s way to care for our community! God bless you all and keep you safe!
Thank you loads for your service. As a former volunteer at Rex Hospital I know how much work you put in for the patients and I know they all appreciate it. Be safe and stay well.
Thanks to all the health care workers and all the other support personal who are working to provide us with health care, groceries, gas, and the many other essentials needed to keep daily life working. May you know that you have my prayers and gratitude for the risks you are taking for our benefit. God’s blessings on all of you and your families may you all stay healthy.
To say you’re just doing your jobs at this time would be an understatement! THANK YOU for “just doing your jobs” during a very stressful situation.
As a UNC alum and parent of two current UNC students, I am incredibly proud to be affiliated with a group of people like you who are the true heroes of this pandemic. I admire your courage, commitment and knowledge. My family and I are incredibly grateful for what you are doing day in and day out to care for those that are stricken with this awful disease as well as all the other cases that are not making the headlines.
Please remember to take care of yourselves and your families.
In gratitude, Lawrence Gray (and family)
As a recently retired (48 years) Lab scientist and hematology supervisor, I understand the outstanding jobs done by healthcare staffs. My wife is a retired critical care R.N. (43 years) and knows what nursing is experiencing. We thank the healthcare staffs, EVS, food, radiology, respiratory, and others for their dedication.

Thank you for your courage “Courage is being scared to death…and saddling up anyway.” (John Wayne)
Matthew 25:40-43 The Message (MSG)
37-40 “Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.’
Have prayed, will pray

Thank you to all the dedicated medical staff who are daily putting the needs of your patients and the entire community above your own and facing this epidemic with great courage. We pray for your safety and are grateful for your service
In the last several years, I have met the Nurses /staff working with Dr. Robert Dixon at UNC Chapel hill and the Nurses/ staff working with Dr. Nathan Sheets at UNC Rex in Raleigh. They all are dedicated professionals with the highest standards. I know they are now on the front lines in situations that are challenging and worrisome for all involved. They are the most optimistic and cheerful group of people I have ever been associated with as a patient receiving care.

As a retired nurse, I am in awe of all the health care professionals that are working tirelessly during this coronavirus crisis. I want to especially send positive thoughts and prayers to Dr. Ollila and his team who cared for me during my cancer diagnosis last September. Cancer doesn’t take a break and I can only imagine how hard it is to see and treat patients at this horrendous time in our history. Bless you all and stay safe! ❤️

As parents of a Marine that gave the ultimate sacrifice, we know that saying “thank you for your service and your sacrifice” is important for those on the front lines of defense of our state and nation. YOU are there, YOU are in the trenches, YOU are giving your all just by being there and doing your job!!! YOU are at risk, yet you go. It’s what YOU do, it’s who you are. We cannot imagine what you are experiencing and won’t pretend to. We remember the intensity of the ED when my husband was there 30 months ago that must be compounded by scores at this even more challenging time. The world currently is thanking God that there are people like you. We thank you more than you know. Please stay well and safe.
Thank you all, from MDs to the warriors that clean the hospital and serve food to the health care workers, you are all so important. Stay strong and feel the love.

Thanks for all that you do for our community! I’m thankful for everything you guys have been doing to keep us safe and help the sick.
We cannot thank you enough! We can’t experience exactly what you are experiencing, but we do know that you are literally putting your lives on the line for all of us. Many people have been called heroes when they have found themselves in situations where they had no choice. You have choices, but you still choose to perform heroically. I was thinking that I hope we can somehow repay you someday, but I realize that, for you, the lives you are saving and helping are the reward you value the most. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
To all of you,
Your courageous , skilled and heroic efforts to protect us all is a debt we the citizens of North Carolina can never repay. We owe our well being and in many cases our lives to you. We are eternally thankful and grateful to and for you. Please make your own safety and health your first priority as your well being is required for you to help us all.
Beyond all measure I am so thankful you are there tirelessly working so I can stay here safe.
there are no words to adequately express the awe, respect, and gratitude we all feel for you & all you are so selflessly and tirelessly doing for those in such desperate need. you are the medicine, the support, the held hands, the “hug”–the only chance–that otherwise alone, frightened, even dying, souls have in this unprecedented, scary time. please know you are recognized, you are seen, you are valued, you are applauded, you are held in the highest of esteem for the gifts that you are to us. thank you, thank you, thank you. sleep comes soon.
Words cannot fully tell you how grateful our community is for what you have done and continue to do for all of us. We are truly blessed.
I am awestruck by your courage and grace under fire. Thank you for your service to your patients and community. We appreciate and pray for you daily!
Mary Hood Hart
Thank you so much for your intellect, training, talents, and generous service to protect our health and work toward treatments and a vaccine. I have never been prouder to be a North Carolinian because of your stellar work. Please stay safe and well.
Five years of great care are now being replicated for others, not without risks to the givers. The scripture is more than ever true: greater love has no person than to lay down their life for their friend or unknown patient. Courage and love flow together and we thank God for those who serve and risk.
Terry Lawing Lucas
I first came to work at UNC in 1969! I remember coming in the front door (then facing the Bell Tower) and seeing the plaque that said: “Built for and by the people of North Carolina.” I knew I was walking into a special place. I have come and gone from this wonderful medical center, and worked in many excellent health care facilities during my nursing career; proudly I spent the last 8 years back home at UNC. Wherever, I practiced, I talked about UNC care as emblematic of that plaque which now hangs proudly in the concourse. Through this pandemic you are living up to those words every minute and in a most courageous manner. Thank you for being there for all North Carolinians and, the world. Thank you for your knowledge, skills, compassion and dedication. So very proud of you all.
Thank you!! I am so appreciative of all the doctors, nurses & all the staff at UNC hospitals! I have been a patient at UNC on more than one occasion! My last stay there was for Whipple surgery for my pancreatic cancer which was diagnosed in May 2016!! Almost 4 yrs. now!! So I truly know how hard you all work! Thank you again & please stay safe & healthy!! Y’all are in our prayers daily!!
Heather Shanahan, Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill
THANK YOU. For all that you are doing to take care of NC families, for your relentless pursuit of excellence and patient care, and for your leadership in finding solutions. Proud to be a partner with UNC Health, and proud to be a Tar Heel!
I pray daily for every healthcare worker to be safe and to get enough rest. Thank you each and every one for your compassion and hard work–you are heroes !
Way to go, UNC!!! This retired radiographer/mammographer is extremely proud of the hard and ceaseless work you all do every day!!
Thanks to all the staff at UNC Health for your courage and selfless efforts to keep us safe.
This is such a challenging time for everyone and it’s still not behind us. Please know that you are appreciated by all and making a tremendous impact. Just knowing you are there to help is invaluable.
To work under these circumstances is heroic. Thank you for being there and all you do, now careful out there!
Thank you for your endless dedication and sacrifice. May God cover and protect you with His love and grace.
“Under the shelter of each other, people survive”: one translation of an old Irish saying. (I also like “Life is strange.”)
My daily thoughts and gratitude are with you who brave terror and trauma as you give shelter, comfort, and care to others. The loneliness of mortal risk comes to each of us, but yours is a truly heart-rending situation.
To each soul around you, no matter your role, you embody compassion. Every kindness from you brings light to our darkest days. Your courage makes even your smallest tired smile a treasure in a recipient’s life, including those that soon may end. Your thoughtful gentleness lends strength against pain. I’ve been a patient, often stunned in pain and mortal fear from various causes, many times over hard-fought decades. The kindnesses and skills of every person who ever entered my care spaces were the strongest medicines of all, whatever their respective tasks. Each of you is a powerful force for good.
We whom you comfort do see you, and we care. We know you as cherished neighbors, loved ones, our personal heroes. Again and again, we’ve seen you fight for us in lonely, awful grinds that took all of your energy but that gave us back some life. We ache for your health and for your peace of mind. We want desperately to return the favor, to protect you, but don’t know how.
Current research news tells us that the cavalry is fighting its way up the nearest hill. I pray that it will reach you soon.
I thank you, both here and each day in my thoughts. I deeply hope that each of you will come out of this crisis in good health and that all will respect your extraordinary service for the rest of your hopefully long, joyful lives.
While it is a different kind of war, we are facing as ugly and unforgiving an enemy as our country has ever faced in it’s history. I would like to paraphrase the battle cry of the United States Army Rangers: “Tar Heels lead the way”! Hoo Rah…???
Sherry S Hay
Amazing work from amazing people. Thanks for all you do!
When I moved back to Chapel Hill in 2011, I knew I had quality medical care close to my doorstep—not eight miles down the road, but just three miles away. I’ve appreciated you for nine years. Now, more than ever, I’m so grateful for your sacrifices, your dedication, your expertise, your help, and your care. Thank you!
To all the laboratory staff, front line behind the scenes, thank you for diagnostics, monitoring and treatment from one of your own in Massachusetts!
