Logistics

I’m excited about eating breakfast on the floor of the Smith Center, but where do I park and how do I get inside?
Enter “300 Skipper Bowles Drive, Chapel Hill” into your GPS. Parking is available in the Manning Lots on Skipper Bowles Drive – we recommend carpooling. After parking, walk to the Smith Center and enter Entrance A. Your name will be at our registration desk. You can also pick up your pre-purchased raffle tickets at registration.

How long does the event last?
Fast Break begins at 8 a.m. and will end at approximately 9:30 a.m.

This is early in the morning! Where would you suggest I stay if I drive to Chapel Hill the night before?
If traveling from out of town, we recommend making reservations at Courtyard Chapel Hill, an ATMA Hotel property. Call (919) 833-0700 and ask for the Sales Office. They will be happy to assist you with a special rate.

What do the proceeds support?
Proceeds from Fast Break support cancer research, treatment and outreach programs at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the N.C. Cancer Hospital.

Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?
Yes, $35 of your $100 general admission ticket is tax deductible. If you purchase a priority table of eight (8), $1,100 of your $1,500 purchase is deductible. You will receive an acknowledgement letter and tax receipt from UNC Lineberger for your records.

Can I purchase tickets the day of the event?
We expect a sell out and cannot guarantee that tickets will be available on the morning of the event. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance.

Health and Safety Protocols

What safety precautions will you take to protect attendees from exposure to COVID-19?
We will follow UNC Community Standards in place at the time of the event. Currently, masks must be worn over your nose and mouth at all times while indoors unless actively eating or drinking. While vaccinations are strongly encouraged, they are not currently required.

We will continue to monitor the situation and contact you if we need to make adjustments to the breakfast.

If you would prefer to watch the program from the comfort of your home, please sign up for the virtual option. We will forward you a link approximately one week prior to the event.

Auctions

I can’t make it to the breakfast but I REALLY want one of the live auction items. Is proxy bidding allowed at Fast Break?
