Dr. Ross Boyce and Dr. Raquel Reyes provide a virtual tour of Uganda. Learn about the people, places and culture of this beautiful country while also gaining a deeper understanding of why Uganda means so much to them and their research work.


Art Demo With Elaine O’Neil – Gratitude Heals

Art is therapy for so many, including famed local artist Elaine O’Neil and Dr. Donald Rosenstein, division head of UNC Health’s General Adult Psychiatry program and director of UNC Lineberger’s Comprehensive Cancer Support Program. Join this artistic duo as they share some of their favorite art pieces. Elaine also gives an art demo on how she uses her fabric and patterns to make holiday cards.


UNC Children’s Cooking Demo – Gratitude Heals

Local celebrity chef Sheri Castle and Dr. Benny Joyner, chief of pediatric critical care medicine, help us get into the holiday spirit with their favorite holiday cocktail and appetizer recipes.


The Aging Brain – Gratitude Heals

Dr. Todd Cohen, one of UNC Health’s leaders in Alzheimer’s disease research, shares more about his lab and how you can protect your brain through gene therapy and biomarkers. He will discusses understanding more about how genetics and environmental factors can impact brain health and answers questions about the aging brain and dementia risk factors.

Whether you just hosted family for Thanksgiving or you are missing holiday traditions due to the pandemic, taking care of your mental health is critical to your overall well-being. Dr. Samantha Meltzer-Brody, chair of the UNC Department of Psychiatry, Dr. Crystal Schiller and Dr. Echo Meyer talk meditation and stress management and answer questions about staying mentally healthy in a pandemic.
